Dulas Ltd have been awarded a business prize in the prestigious Ashden Awards for Sustainable Energy. The award symbolises the prominence of the employee-owned company based in mid-Wales in the world of renewables. Presenting the awards, Sir David King, former chief scientific advisor to the government, said, "I've had my spirits raised by what I've seen here at the Ashden Awards.   Climate change is the biggest challenge we have ever had to face. We need individual actions like these."

Dulas got to the finals because of their depth of experience and high quality engineering skills honed over 25 years. Set up in 1982, the company is revered for their installation skills for a number of renewable technologies including, wind, solar, hydro and biomass. The company has award-winning products, including their highly successful solar-powered vaccine refrigerators. In the last 5 years alone, Dulas has sold or installed renewable energy equipment with a capacity of over 11MW, potentially saving over 4500 tonnes of CO2 per year.

Ian Draisey Marketing Director at Dulas said, “Some awards are about marketing; some awards are about technical achievement; but the Ashden Awards are about making a difference." The Ashden Awards are a UK-based charity that works to increase the use of local sustainable energy worldwide by finding, rewarding, and publicising the work of leading energy programmes. To be highlighted by these awards is a great achievement.
