The Low Carbon Partnership

PV and Wind makes all the difference

Frith Manor Primary School

Frith Manor Primary School in Barnet, London, has successfully installed renewable technologies on to their new buildings. The school suffered severe damage when it tragically burnt down in 2002. In rebuilding the school, Frith Manor took up the opportunity to go green and install both PV and wind systems. Having successfully obtained a grant from the Low Carbon Buildings Programme, phase II, the school now has both a reliable source of green electricity, and a working model for children to learn about the technologies of the future. The school hopes to save nearly 1.6 tonnes of CO2/year and almost £1600 on fuel costs, which they hope to then spend further sustainability projects.
